Punta Cana - We're here!

We have arrived at the Grand Bahia Principe in Punta Cana. This place is enormous. I will admit, we were both a little overwhelmed when we got here due to the size of the place. After getting a snack, Mr. Bruises went to an orientation and walked around while I took a much needed nap. I felt much better after he woke me up and he felt much better after getting a feel for the place and learning the lay of the land.

The beach is so far away, however, they do have these little trams that take you to an from the beach. We just need to get into our routine and we will be fine.

I swear, no matter where you stay, the food is the same. I predict that I will be living on the “P Diet” again this year: Pineapple, Pizza, Pasta, Pepsi and Pina Coladas. We did get reservations at the three restaurants that we wanted, turns out they already had us booked for the Italian and Mexican, so we added the Japanese Steakhouse.

This place is 10 steps up from the Riu Resorts where we have always stayed. It’s OMG luxurious. The bathroom is to die for and our room is huge. There is something going on everywhere. We have our own little mall. We don’t have the bar in our room with the liquor hanging upside down with dispensers, but that’s okay, because Mr. Bruises insisted on bringing his own huge bottle of coconut rum for us and I am glad that he did.

The little fridge only had two Pepsis, two waters and two beers in it. While searching for an ice machine, I found a closet and helped myself to a case of Pepsi. Hey, it’s free and I am just helping the maid out by not having to bring us stuff for our rum. You should have seen Mr. Bruises face when I walked in the room with it.

I am typing this without Internet. I am going tonight to rent the wireless card. I have to take the laptop with me and they install something on it and I will be able to use my laptop in the room, in the lobby and at the pools. I only need it for in the morning, when I blog and in the evening to check email and upload photos and videos. I am a little concerned that they may load something onto my computer that I don’t want on there, however, I feel that if they do, I will be able to remove it later and I really don’t keep anything personal on here like credit card numbers and such.

We are going to be off for our first beach adventure soon. I have the Flip Cam all charged up for the Mr. Speedo Hell No 2010 pageant.

The Purple Potty

A lot of people have mentioned that I have never featured the salon bathroom on The Bathroom Tour. We affectionately call it The Purple Potty. This is because it is inside of The Purple Pinkie. There are some accents in purple, but for the most part, it is a normal looking bathroom.

I recently got a gift from a friend. It's a large, poster, photo-collage of photos of me being Fonda Bruises. It is awesome! I put it in The Purple Potty behind the door. This is the view when you are sitting on the throne.

The Bathroom Tour Continues

This was taken at The Spaghetti Warehouse in the Strip District. They have a beautiful, antique floor to ceiling mirror with the most beautiful frame. I ended up cutting off the frame in the photo. This mirror is perfect for taking a full-body photo!

Don't leave your camera!

This is what happens when you go out for a smoke break and leave your camera on the table. It gives me free reign to take any photos I want! My friend, Paul found this out the hard way when a bunch of us from the Class of 83 (I'm an honorary member) went out for dinner on Valentine's Day.

I take photos in the bathroom, don't you just love the blue toilet seat!

These are so not worthy of The Bathroom Tour!
I take photos of the electrical outlets.
I put the camera in my lap and shoot, low and behold look at all the gum we have here!

I take photos of people's finished beverages!
I take photos of the window decorations.

I take photos of feet. That's my purple Ugg boot and Deanna's "Do Me" boot.

I make people make funny faces!

Then I pull out the big guns, I start balancing spoons off of my face. This is pure talent people. I am not only balancing the spoon off my face, I am taking the photo too!

So, moral of this blog post.....never, ever, ever, leave your camera unattended when I am around!

The Bathroom Tour Continues...

While dining at Rolland's in the strip this weekend, I used their bathroom. I asked those that I was with if I needed to take my camera with me and I was told that it wasn't anything special. Well, after I did my business, I had to get my camera and return. I guess those losers just don't appreciate three pedestal sinks in a row with circular mirrors above each. I think it's gorgeous!

Be sure to check out the other bathrooms by clicking on the "bathrooms" label below!

The Bathroom Tour

I seem to be finding myself in interesting bathrooms lately. You will recall a past post, which featured a photo of The Beehive's bathroom. Sunday, I entered the most awesome public bathroom of all at Trader Joes! It looks like you are in a submarine.

When I came out of the bathroom, my BFF Jill asked me if I took a picture in there. Of course, she KNEW I did! I think I should photograph all the great bathrooms of America and make a coffee table book!

One of my favorite places.

This is a picture of one of my favorite places. Well, it's the bathroom, actually. If I lived closer to it, I think I would spend a lot of time there. Anyone want to guess where it is?
