Final Dumb Ass Award of 2009

I haven't handed out a Dumbass of the Week award (DAOTW) in awhile.   I am pleased to announce that I have found a final recipient of the award for 2009!  While standing in line at Wal-Mart, the jackass in front of me, who was from out of town (he had the thickest southern drawl I've ever heard), started pitching a royal fit because the WalMart clerk, who was helping the cashier ticked him off.  Why you ask?  Well it seems that fat ass - jackass expected the clerk to put his big ass bag of rock salt in his cart for him.  The problem with this scenario?  The clerk has ONE ARM!

Seriously.  You want a one armed man to pick up a 20 pound pag of rock salt and heave it into your cart?  BFF Jill said that I should have kicked him in the knee then said "Now go run a marathon".  I wish I would have thought of that.

Congratulations fat ass - jackass, you are the final Dumbass of the Week for 2009!  Now go the hell back to wherever you came from and everyone, when in WalMart and you see Art, tell him what a great job he's doing.  Got to give the guy credit, he could be sitting at home on his ass collecting disability, but no.  He is employed and has to put up with jackasses like this!  Way to go Art!

Out of Control

I woke up this morning, the last morning of 2009 and I can't believe how out of control my life feels right now.  For a semi-control freak, like myself, this is not good.  Everything with my mom and her nursing home are pissing me off.  I feel totally out of control in my own salon even.   I have about a block of 25 gift certificates that I have no flippin clue if they are numbered and logged correctly.  I found one gift certificate that was logged as sold, stuffed into the candy box.  So, I have no clue what number they were actually given, most likely the number from the back not the front.

Mostly today, my back hurts.  Mainly from the big, giant knife that I seem to have sticking out of it.  I am such a giving person.  I try to help others.  Everyone always says that what you give, you get back tenfold and for the most part, I believe that.  There are, however, some times, like right now, when it doesn't come back.  Someone that you help turns around and sticks a big ole butcher knife in your back.  Nothing like that to wake you up and put on your "I can be a total f'n bitch" hat.

So, I say good riddance to 2009.  Personally, I thought you sucked and you are ending on a really sucky note.  I look forward to midnight, when I can stomp your losing ass out of my life.  Tonight is a full moon, which makes it a blue moon, since it will be the second moon of the calendar month.  So, tonight, I will howl at the moon, and drink a few Blue Moons and welcome 2010 into my life.  Right after I take this huge butcher knife out of my back.

Happy New Year

Nursing Home - Caught in a Lie

Yesterday, I started my bitch fest at the top.  I called Dialysis and spoke with the social worker.  She was VERY helpful.  She informed me that my mother was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday, December 15 at 5:30 pm by her attending physician at the home.  Now, the nursing home told me that Dialysis sent her to the hospital.  This is not true, since she is finished with dialysis at 10 in the morning, she was admitted at 5:30 pm.

It gets better.  Dialysis didn't know she was hospitalized until mom didn't show up for dialysis on Thursday, December 17.  They called looking for her and were informed that she was in the hospital.  I really don't know how long she was in after that.

So, let's just add to the miscommunication.  I guess the home isn't communicating with anyone!  At all.

I filed a formal complaint with the Department of Health yesterday.  The lady I spoke with said I had three legitimate concerns.  Mysteriously enough, I got a notice today that there is a Care Plan meeting scheduled for January 6.  Usually these happen quarterly.  She just had one in December.

I hope by January 6 I am cooled down enough that I don't rip faces off.

Putting the Flip to good use

Yesterday, BFF Jill, her brother in law, Brian and I took the Flip Cam out into the snow and filmed his audition video for Survivor.  We decided that his angle should be that Ford City needs a better representative on Survivor than one we had in the past.  We came up with our shots and headed out!  We had a blast filming this!  I hope Brian makes the cut!

Update on Mom

The day after Christmas, I received a notice in my mailbox that I had a certified letter from the nursing home. I figured that this letter would be informing me of her move and her infected finger. I go to the post office and pick up the letter, which is just a notice that my mother's Speech Therapy will no longer be covered by Medicare and I have the right to appeal. WTF?

So, I called the nursing home. I was informed that not only was my mother moved because she has an infected finger, but she was IN THE HOSPITAL for it while I was on vacation. She was moved because her she not only has Osteomyelitis in her finger, which is a bone infection, she has MRSA!

I asked why I wasn't informed of the move or the infection and was told that they asked her on three occasions if they should call me. She told them no, I was on vacation. Again, WTF? I asked the nurse if she was aware that my mother has a brain injury that caused damage to the part of her brain that is responsible for cognitive thinking, which is problem solving and decision making. I mean really? This woman is in a nursing home, should she be asked that? I have medical and financial Power of Attorney.

There are so many things wrong with this situation and I am totally pissed off. First, Dialysis sent her to the hospital. The social worker did not inform me. The hospital did not inform me and finally the nursing home did not inform me. Three facilities dropped the ball. All three have record of her brain injury and all three have copies of her POA paperwork.

Next, I spent more than an hour in her room with my dog and was not informed that she had MRSA. Her finger was not wrapped it was open for anyone to touch. Also, she is in a room with another woman who has MRSA. Thanks a fucking lot for letting me know to protect myself and my pet.

I have the number for the PA Department of Health and I've been urged by people to contact them to file a complaint. Once I cool down, I will decide what to do. Tomorrow, the dialysis social worker and I will be having words.

Christmas Loot

I must have been a good girl this year. I got a Garmin, a Flip Cam, the Glee 2 soundtrack, a hundred dollar bill, racing nuns, and a purple Cuddlie (Snuggie knock-off). Yes you read that right, racing nuns. I've even named them after nuns of my past so that when I race them, I know who wins.

Not pictured in the group shot is the Kris LeTang bobble head, who was left at the salon so that we can admire his sexy hair while we work.

Coming soon, Flip Video of Sister Tharsilla taking on Sister John Mary on the kitchen floor!

The Christmas Blahs have set in..

Well, I've been doing so good this year. Usually my blahs come about three to four weeks before Christmas and climax with the holiday. This year, they didn't come. I blamed it on the unseasonably warm weather. Cold, snowy weather always makes me cranky, especially when I have static in my hair and my skin feels like it will itch itself off of my body.

Well, my blahs set in last night. Last night was the most joyless Christmas Eve I've ever had. It started out good. Riley went to work with me and we sold gift certificates. BFF Jill stopped and we swapped gifts. I got a Letang bobble head, Racing Nuns and a purple Snuggie. All three of those gifts made me smile and laugh in some way. Riley and I then headed to Kibuk Cycle Sales to see Mr. Bruises and crew and participate in their holiday party for the staff and customers. Everyone was jolly there as well.

Then came the downslide, I headed to the nursing home to visit my mom. We went to her room with her gifts and her name was no longer on the door. Her bed was empty. An aid saw my confusion and told me that they moved her. No explanation why. She proceeds to take me to a whole other unit and I find where my mom is. I walk in and she's having a breathing treatment and she doesn't look good. She seems confused when I ask her if she wants presents. She says no. I ask why and she says because she has nothing to give me. I explain that that is okay and we would really like to give her some presents.

I start to ask her when and why she moved. She said she moved about a week ago, while I was returning from vacation and in the midst of non-stop work for the Snowball and the holiday. I asked why and she said it was because she has an infected finger. She holds it up and it is disgusting. It wasn't even wrapped. I don't know if she has MRSA or what and no one could seem to tell me. It was Christmas Eve so I am going to look for answers on Monday.

First, I want to know why the hell no one told me that they moved her. I mean I am not only her only child, I am her POA for everything. Second, why the hell did no one inform me of her infected finger. I mean really, they call me when they change a dosage on one of her meds, which I could really give two shits about and something important like a move because of an infected finger, I get no call. Needless to say, I am pissed. Then, I get all depressed seeing my mom like that. Even worse than normal. That's when all the blahs hit me all at once.

We had a nice visit and Riley seemed to enjoy seeing her as much as she enjoyed seeing him. She opened her gifts, I got her two outfits, a new fleece blanket for dialysis and a big tin, filled with her favorite candy. Normally, she would have dug right into that candy. She smiled and thanked me and set it beside her bed.

We headed home after that and I started to immediately make the pie, dessert and cole slaw for dinner the next day. Mr. Bruises insists on having a full Thanksgiving dinner for Christmas. Why? Because his mother always did that. You know what? Nancy HATED doing that second dinner. How do I know? Because I was the one that always cooked with her. We both hated doing all that work again. Me especially since I just work my ass off non stop for weeks. So, last year I put my foot down and told him if he wanted it, he will cook it. Well that was a disaster last year. Looks like I will be doing most of the work this year as well.

All I wanted to do last night was eat a little, drink a little, watch The Hangover and play Rock Band. I sat alone until 10, when Tammy came down. Mr. Bruises came home from church about 30 minutes later. I am Catholic. I don't go to church, long story for another post. I have a big problem with people who go to church once a year and Mr. Bruises and his dad fall into that category. I take that back, they go twice a year. Christmas and Easter.

So we did get to watch the movie and it was awesome. I went to bed right after that. I was just physically and emotionally exhausted.

I know that I really should be happy with the things that I have, but sometimes it is just so hard to get past the things I no longer have and Christmas really brings it all back.

Merry Christmas everyone. Hug your loved ones and keep them close.

The Parade Marshall

I've got a helper for today and he is going to the the Parade Marshall. That's The Penis Parade Marshall. Today is the annual Penis Parade at The Purple Pinkie. It's Christmas Eve and there will be a constant parade of men coming in to purchase gift certificates. Every year, I open up from noon until 3:00 just for them. It's a tradition now.

Here's to hoping that the penis in your life starts and finishes his shopping today and gets you something nice!

Smile Therapy

Today is the last full day of work. We are open tomorrow for gift certificate sales only. There will be LOTS of Smile Therapy today.

There will be the slew of phone calls. People who want squeezed in today or tomorrow. Most of our appointments today were booked months ago and sorry, if we worked on Christmas Eve, your one hour appointment would take three hours due to all the interruptions of people calling and wanting us to write out gift certificates.

Then we will have the few people that will either no show us or call and cancel an hour before their appointment. Since we've been booked for months, we've been turning people away for months and then we end up with open slots.

Smile Therapy is what gets us through it all. It's either that or we will start drinking at work.

Shopping with the BFF

Sunday, we had The Purple Pinkie Christmas lunch at The Olive Garden. I am truly blessed with the people I work with and I am very thankful for them. I am also thankful that BFF Jill was able too step right up and jump in and help us fill in some gaps that were left from Kylie going to Florida for three months. After lunch and cocktails, BFF Jill and I hit the mall. I didn't need anything, my shopping and wrapping has been finished for weeks. I went to help BFF Jill spend her money.

We went into Dick's and this is the sight that we saw. Way too many people, spending way to much money in what we are told is a recession. Before any of you get your panties in a wad, let me tell you, almost everyone was paying with CASH. Lots of cash.

When we arrived at the mall, I went to pull into a parking space, after circling the mall for nearly 10 minutes looking for one. A man jumped out at me and told me I couldn't park there. What? I was ready to rumble with him. I asked why and was told that people were parking three deep and he was parked in and needed to get out from that space. I told him I would sit there until he was able to pull out so that I could have that spot.

What the Asshat didn't realize, is that people didn't park him, and the others in, those Asshats, parked in the MIDDLE of the lane, then the others just followed the parking lines. Seriously. You can't just make your own parking space. You deserve to be parked in. When we left, hours later, there were still people parked in.

So, we have people paying in cash. We have to drive in circles for a parking place. People are making their own parking spaces and parking three deep, but we are in a recession? I think not. I think people need to stop buying into all the bullshit the media, is shoving down our throat.

One thing is for certain, even Santa needs to pee sometime! Can you imagine being a kid in the potty and the big guy walks in! I think a hidden camera needs to be set up!

Punking Mr. Bruises

Last week, a client brought Max in to visit. The family brought the puppy home thinking it was a boy only to have the vet tell them, nearly a week later that it's a girl! They had been calling her Max and considered changing her name, but the youngest son was having nothing of it. So, meet Maxine!

She is such a cutie. She just snuggled in to my neck. When I went to give her some treats, the most amazing puppy breath ever came out of her mouth. Puppy breath is the best smell on Earth!

I thought I would get Mr. Bruises going, so I sent him the following photo in a text message and had the following text conversation with him:

Me: Your Christmas present was just delivered.
MB: Is that really ours?
Me: Yep
MB: You're kidding, right?
Me: Nope
MB: Girl?
Me: Yep
***long pause***
Me: She was just visiting, her name is Max, but you are lucky this time!
MB: You got my hopes up, Max is a dumb name for a girl.

I then had to explain the whole boy/girl mix up to him. His response surprised me. I didn't realize he would be open to another dog. I would love to have about three more, however, we would need to find other options for doggy sitting if we added another dog. Three dogs is a lot to ask someone to care for when you are on vacation.

You have to admit, she is a cutie!

Cookie Swap!

Monday is our cookie swap at The Purple Pinkie. I made my Great Aunt Marge's Nut Horns. I picked that recipe because they are a pain in the ass to make and they make a lot. I love them, but I don't need ten dozen of them.

Eight other people are swapping cookies with me tonight at The Purple Pinkie. I scheduled it for 6:30 - 7:00. I am a dumbass and didn't realize that I am working tonight until 7:30. I usually don't work on Mondays and Tuesdays, but since I am taking Thursday and Friday off, I had to move my regulars. So, it looks like BFF Jill is in charge!

So, it's work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I will then be open on Christmas Eve from Noon until 3:00 for the Annual Penis Parade. Gift Certificate day! I will write all about that soon!

Snow-mageddon

Once again, they have canceled The Snowball, the annual Christmas dance for Ford City High School. They cancelled it Friday afternoon, based on weather forecasts that called for one to three inches of snow for today.

Three years ago, all four local schools had their dance on the same night, Ford City, Kittanning and West Shamokin. Same thing, they cancelled on Friday afternoon. With all four schools on one night lots of businesses took a hit. My salon did, hair salons, florists. It was bad and it was a week before Christmas.

This year wasn't so bad, it was only one school, Ford City, but still bad for the hair salons and florists. My salon was blessed. We only had one cancellation, the rest all came and those with appointments today are still planning to come. With nails, you can still get them done for the holidays. Hair, not so much and with flowers, well, those aren't going to keep.

While my business was fortunate, I really feel for the other businesses. People don't realize that hair stylists work usually on commission. So if they don't work, they don't get paid. To accommodate all these appointments, they had to pass up a lot of other appointments. They are now left with an empty book and an empty pocketbook less than a week before Christmas.

I've heard people say that they don't think they should have to pay for flowers because it's not their fault the dance was cancelled. Well it isn't the florist's fault either. They shelled out a shit ton of money ordering flowers in, paid extra labor wages to prepare the bouquets. These flowers will not keep until Christmas to be sold as arrangements then. They will be half dead by then.

Those who kept their appointments with me pretty much all said that they picked up their flowers and one girl said she was still keeping her hair appointment, she was going to get her hair trimmed instead. I really applaud these girl and especially their parents. They are doing the RIGHT THING.

Seriously, we live in Western PA, it snows here! In my 42 years of life, I remember the Snowball being cancelled twice now, the two times mentioned. I remember going to this dance in two feet of snow in the 80's. Guess what, we all survived because our parents took us. It's a shame that we live in a time that people would sue if something happened to their kid attending a dance when it was snowing. Seriously. Be a parent and decide if it's safe for your child. If it's not then decide to either drive them yourself or keep them at home.

Again, I have been blessed and I am very thankful for it. The dance is supposed to be rescheduled in late January. I will bet my left kidney that it will be January 30, which is my birthday, which I will be in Punta Cana. Guaranteed, this is how the Armstrong School District, the ORIGINAL Asshole Parade works.

Have fun in that three inches of snow everyone!

Back to Reality

So, we are home. Back to Reality. I worked approximately ten minutes before I had to shorten my totally awesome nails. It's freezing cold. I am working non-stop until Christmas. The knower of all, Tinkerbell, says it like it really is....

Mornings in Western Pennsylvania, in the winter, are NOT magical. She is such a smart one, I guess that's why she has wings and gets to carry the Pixie Dust.

Know what is magical? Or should I say Who? This guy! Travis!

This guy will turn your frown upside down!

The Birthday

Well, yesterday was Mr. Bruises' birthday. I threatened him that I would make him wear the "Birthday Cake Hat" if he wanted me to go to Disney with him. Well, I got him to put it on at the end of the day for a photo. Turns out he didn't need it.
When he went to collect his free ticket for his birthday, they gave him a Happy Birthday pin with his name one it. The cast member who wrote it even dotted his eye with a Mickey Mouse head. That pin was wonderful.

Throughout the day, cast members would say "Happy Birthday, Nick!" The first couple of times, he didn't realize they were talking to him. Then the guests started it. The security lady at our hotel was going to bust out and sing to him, but noticed that he was blushing just from the near mention of his special day, she decided not to torture him further.

We started the day at The Animal Kingdom. I know some are not fans of this park, but I am. I love animals and love learning about them. The decor of this park really makes you feel like you are actually in Asia or Africa. Expedition Everest was an awesome ride as was the Jungle Safari.

I absolutely loved their Christmas tree. It was all decked out in animal ornaments. This was, by far, my favorite tree at Disney.

We upgraded Mr. Bruises' ticket to a park hopper so that we could spend half of the day at Epcot. Now this is my least favorite park. I think it's too educational. I am on vacation. I want to be entertained. I did, however, enjoy the park. Soarin' was awesome!

We rode Spaceship Earth and there was a part where they took our photo and I goofed around during it. Little did I know that they would use it later for a video. It turned out hysterical mainly due to our facial expressions!

There was some really cool light and water shows going on all day. The trees were white, pink and purple.

We ate dinner at the Mexican restaurant in the world showcase. The chips and salsa were to die for. We ended the night at The Tambu Lounge at The Polynesian, where we had the greatest pina coladas ever made. Seriously. If you are ever at Disney World, go there and try them.

All in all, I think Mr. Bruises had a great birthday. The Asshole Parade that I had to endure was worth it to see him happy on his special day.

Magic Kingdom Day

We hung around the pool yesterday. I swear the Polynesian has bed bugs or I am allergic to something in the room. I was head to toe itchy yesterday and it is continuing this morning.

We went to The Magic Kingdom for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. We’ve attended it before, so we knew it was a good time. We got to enter the park three hours before the party started.

We had dinner at Tony's the restaurant from Lady and the Tramp. We got the famous spaghetti and meatballs and NO we didn't chew on the same strand ofd spaghetti.

The castle was lit up so pretty, they not only had lights on it, they changed the colors of it too. There were fireworks and two parades. Through the park were areas set up that you could get free cookies and hot chocolate. When we were leaving, it was snowing on Main Street!

The park was filled with assholes, as usual. We rode Pirates of the Caribbean with some old bastard that thought that he deserved one and a half of a seat portion to himself by spreading his legs so wide that Mr. Bruises and I had one and a half portion to share. He then had to talk loudly during the whole ride, screaming out things.

Then, during Donald’s Philharmonic 3D thingie, some bitch behind me sang EVERY single song AND she didn’t know the words. Loudly.

Then we encountered the Drunk Dad. We rode Small World with him first and he was yelling and pointing everything out to his toddler. We then got stuck on the Snow White ride with him. When he saw the dwarves for the first time he exclaimed “Look, there are the Elves!” I know it’s the holiday season, but come on!

Then during the parade, we encountered the Future Assholes, a group of tween girls that crowded themselves next to us. I sat there and watched them throw pieces of their turkey leg at people as they walked by. They then proceeded to flick the crowd control rope, so that it hit me in the face while I sat. After three times, I gave the brat the look of death. All the while, the parents just let them go.

I’ve come to the conclusion that people are just rude. I thought it was just the foreigners at Disney, but there are very few here this time. If you don’t give way when encountering someone, you will find yourself playing chicken with a baby stroller. People smack into you and never even acknowledge that they did it. THIS is what I hate about Disney. I love the rides, the ambiance, everything. I just hate the rude people.

Today is Mr. Bruises birthday and we are heading to Animal Kingdom. It’s been a great day so far, I slept all night. I think the assholes next door left! Let’s hope that all the assholes went home!

Happiest Place on Earth?

Really? For being in/near The Happiest Place on Earth, I am not too pleased, let alone happy. First, Disney is a money, grubbing whore. Mr. Bruises is paying an INSANE amount of money to stay at The Polynesian. Even though the daily rate is MORE than some people pay for rent at home, we still have to pay for Internet service. WOW, the Comfort Inn next door is $59 a night, free WI-FI and free shuttle to all Disney Parks. Why are we staying here again?

Next was our neighbors. We knew we were in trouble when we had the room next to the strollers and yes, that is plural. Listen, I don't hate kids, I actually love them. I have two nieces and a nephew and three great nephews and one great niece. I do, however, HATE unruly kids with no parenting. Our neighbors qualify. At 4:00 am it started. The blood-curdling screaming. The kicking of the walls. The opening and slamming of inner and outer doors. I actually heard someone bang on their door. Still, it continued until 5:30. An hour and a half of that bullshit.

At one point, I was going to bang on their door as well. I yanked the door open, in my jammies, only to be greeted with the father, staring right by my door, fully dressed. I stood there, with that squinty eye that I get when I am really pissed and just stared him down, then slammed the door. I really don't have time for inconsiderate people.

I sure hope I don't have two more days of this bullshit. I have a hotel phone and I am not afraid to use it. We will be having words if it happens again. I may even have to inform those little monsters that there IS NO SANTA!

Anywhoo I am going to try to not let this ruin my trip. This and a few other reasons are why I can't stand Disney World, but it's for Mr. Bruises birthday, I will try to block it all out.

We ate at the Hard Rock last night and OMG Weezie, our waiter from when we were there in January was there! I instantly sent a text to BFF Jill, Amanda and Lynn. I almost immediately got responses:

BFF Jill: Shut UP!

Amanda: Shut your mouth!

Lynn: From the Jeffersons?

I literally LOL'd at Lynn. Yes she is blonde, but she is a SMART ONE! So I replied to her:

Rhonda: No our waiter from the Hard Rock. Wait.....that's right, you were drunk, with your head on the table!

(True fact, please see photographic evidence!)

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party tonight!

Last day on Sanibel

We spent our last full day on Sanibel by heading to Captiva. We spent the day at the beach, then had dinner at the Key Lime Bistro. We had pina coladas there the day before. That was the best meal of the trip.

We then walked down to The Bubble Room for dessert. I plan to do a whole post on The bubble room when I get home, because that place deserves it. I took a ton of photos. As you can see, the desserts here are BIG!

I had the White Christmas, which was a white cake, with coconut and white chocolate shavings.

I made sure I got a close up of the Red Velvet cake for BFF Jill.

George and Donna took advantage of The Tunnel of Love.

Final review, we LOVE Sanibel and will most definitely return. George and Donna are on their way home today and Mr. Bruises and I are now heading to Orlando to Disney World for his birthday until Thursday!

Beach Bumming It!

Yesterday was a beach bum day. We started off at Tarpon Bay Beach. here I am assuming the Sanibel Stoop. You will see people walking the beach like this because there are seashells everywhere.

While we were there, there was obviously a Seagull Convention going on.

We then moved to Captiva Island and low and behold, there was a Pelican Convention going on.

At this beach on Captiva, there was a mountain of seashells. I mean a total mountain of them. This picture doesn't do it justice but you could dig for hours and never hit sand. It was amazing.

We saw the best sunset of our lives on that beach. So many people came out to the beach to watch the sunset as well.

We then had some Pina Coladas, then got cleaned up and headed to Fort Myers Beach to The Cottage for dinner. Kylie was our waitress. For those of you at home, she looks wonderful and she seems happy. Kylie has fit right in down here. When we left, I told her roomie Scott, to make sure she comes home.

It looks like it's going to be another beautiful day here. We are reading reports on Twitter and Facebook that back home is a sheet of ice and even church is cancelled. So, as we head out to the beach for another beautiful day, we hope you all at home, stay warm and safe in your homes!

Our visit to Profiles!

We had a fun-filled day, yesterday. We went and picked Kylie up and headed to Profiles Salon. Kylie and I got our nails done and Donna got a facial and a massage. Tom-Tom got us lost on the way, so we were a little late.

The boys headed for the casino, but Tom Tom got them lost again, so they went to WalMart then hung out on the bench outside of the salon.

It was great to see all the gals and catch up. Ami did my nails and Ashley did Kylie's. Traci was floating around and Marty popped in for a minute and I got to harass him a bit Here are Kylie and I posing with Ami.

We then headed to a beach on Sanibel. We saw the most amazing sunset from that beach. We then headed out to dinner at the Lazy Flamingo and then went somewhere and entered Karaoke Hell. Trust me, when I get home and have time to edit all of the video footage from last night, it is going to be an awesome watch.

I hope all of you back home are staying warm. We are trying to send you some good weather!

Sanibel Island

This is the wonderful house that we rented in Sanibel Island. It's one of the original houses here. It's cute and quaint, situated amongst million dollar mansions.

Donna's hair stylist owns the house. It is a round house and there are windows the entire way around the house. It is the perfect little beach house and it has a spiral staircase. I've always wanted one of these.

We are headed to Profiles Salon today to visit Traci and Ami, who are fellow Young Nails Mentors. I am so excited! I have always said that if I lived in Florida I would work there and be a Profile Girl.

It's a little overcast today. I will take overcast over the snow you guys are getting back home!

Battered Women

Well we are headed to the airport. We don't look our best. Donna, ran into a closed door in the dark a few days ago and has a black eye. Last night, I fell down the basement steps and most of my back side, including legs are scraped and bruised.

Donna looks like George punched her. I look like Mr. Bruises pushed me down the stairs. We look like battered women.

At least we won't look like Mr. Bruises looks in those sunglasses! Sanibel Island, here we come!
