I've never thought of myself as being high maintenance. Mr. Bruises, however thinks that I have entirely too many beauty products. Each day as he is in the shower, I can hear things falling and dropping. I seriously don't know what that boy does in the shower because I could do the Electric Slide and The Chicken Dance in there and nothing would get knocked down.
I read an article once that said that the average woman uses a dozen beauty products in a day. It got me thinking. I started counting, and holy bejesus, I use 25! over TWICE the amount the average woman uses. Now, in my defense, a few of the products I wouldn't necessarily classify as a beauty prouct. Shampoo and soap are necessities.
So here they are, in order of use per day:
- Facial Cleanser
- Soap
- Shower Gel (Shut up, I use both, some areas are too delicate for shower gel)
- Shaving Lotion
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Eye Cream
- Facial Moisturizer
- Lamasi Lotion (I would die without this stuff)
- Heel Cream
- Toothpaste
- Tongue Cleaning Spray
- Deodarant
- Contact Lens Solution
- Foundation
- Blush
- Eyeshadow
- Eyeliner
- Mascara
- Lipgloss
- Moraccan Oil
- Root Pump
- Hairspray
- Hand Soap
- Perfume
Now, from start to finish, from the time my feet hit the shower until I am dressed and ready to head out of the door takes thirty minutes. High Maintenance? I don't think so. I am just a Product Whore.

What is a root pump?
Root Pump is a styling aid tht you apply to the root of your hair, especially at the crown. It gives you more volume. My hair is pretty flat without it.
Until I saw this picture I thought they had stopped making Safeguard. I was so happy to see it that I went on a search for it this weekend (found at a Walgreens in Beaver).

Safeguard is the only soap that doesn't irritate Mr. Bruises skin, so we would soooooooooo be screaming and running to the hills if they quit making it! We get it at WalMart, our grocery store quit selling it about four years ago!
Walmart - I just assumed they wouldn't have it. Sheesh. I'm going to have to start paying more attention! Thanks for the heads-up. I love Safeguard (although there are some parts of my body that I don't let it touch) because it has such a clean fresh smell. Now if they would only bring back the shampoo that Farrah Fawcett had - it had a fabulous smell, too. I think we're close in age (and truly close neighborhoods - I'm 10 minutes away from Ford City), do you remember it?

Oh, and WM has Safeguard in those big multi-packs!
I spent last night surfing the net to find out all that I could about FF shampoo. I was secretly hoping that they were using the same formula under a different name. No such luck. I should be ashamed to admit that I am currently "watching" an unused bottle on e-bay right now. My husband is convinced that a 30 year old bottle of shampoo would suck, but a lot of people say that it still has the same smell. Heh.
I used to be able to crochet so maybe I'll try and dig out my hooks and join you guys next time - I know I'm a pro at the bitching!
I can't believe you watched those insane videos. Gah. And dammit, now you'll be able to identify me if I come in to get my nails done! I finally realized that there is no hope for me doing acrylics at home. There is a reason they call them professionals, huh? :)
